Staying With Your Leisure Program

Even when you have set a goal, staying with an activity or program can be very hard. Here are some tips to help you.

  • Choose things you like. You’re more likely to stay with new leisure activities that interest you, more than ones that other people think are good for you.
  • Take small steps that you can manage to help you change your behaviour slowly.
  • Find a partner or friend who is interested in doing the activity with you. You are more likely to keep your goals when you’re doing them with others and have their support.
  • Ask family members to do leisure activities with you and share your goals with them.
  • Write down the activities you do and how long you do them.
  • Track your goals and successes.
  • Look back and reward yourself for doing well. It’s important to see how far you’ve come and focus on your successes.
