Using technology for leisure
Technology can help you develop a new, healthy leisure lifestyle.
Social media
Social media can connect you to communities of people in recovery. Many people find they can share more easily with others online than in person. Social media may also be a way for you to make friends who you want to meet in real life.
 Look for:
- Facebook groups focused on being sober and recovery
 - stories of others on Twitter and Instagram by searching sober and recovery-related hashtags
 - ways to share your story with others
 - motivational quotes that may help you keep your leisure plan

Apps
As you work towards better health using your leisure time, apps may also help you improve your mental and physical health. Look online for:
- mindfulness apps to help you meditate and relax
 - a 12-step app, which helps you find meetings, meditate, and track your information
 - Sober Grid, similar to Facebook for those in recovery
 - apps that track the time that you have been sober
 - fitness trackers, sleep trackers, and food trackers to help you work on other aspects of your health and wellness to support your recovery
