Your transplant team

You will have a healthcare team that works with you before your transplant called the pre-transplant team. A different healthcare team will work with you after your surgery called the post-transplant team. For children, the same doctors and nurses will work with you before and after transplant.

You and your family are key members of your healthcare team. Whenever possible you’ll be included in the care and treatment decisions during your transplant journey.

Your transplant team may also include:

doctors
nurses
nephrologists
surgeons
pharmacists
dietitians
social workers
physiotherapists
occupational therapists
psychologists
kinesiologists – specialists in exercise and body movement
clerical staff – help book appointments, tests, and keep records organized
